DISCOVER LOBOS ISLAND
Discover Isla Lobos with Javi, a local guide:
Javi's Story:
Born in Fuerteventura, Javi has lived there all his life and since 2017 has been offering Zodiac excursions to Lobos Island. His family is closely tied to the island, where his grandfather was a lighthouse keeper for 60 years. Javi spent much of his childhood on Lobos, and his family owns a fisherman's cabin that has been passed down from generation to generation. Now, he invites others to enjoy the island and its history through his excursions.
What's included?:
Transportation: Zodiac transfer to Lobos from Corralejo and back.
Sports equipment: Bicycles, SUP (Stand Up Paddle), Snorkeling gear, and Kayaks.
Beverages: Wine, beer, soft drinks, and water.

The Boat:
They offer excursions in the Atlantic Ocean with a Zodiac, a rigid inflatable boat (RIB). It is fast, very stable, and safe, ideal for adventures. Unlike a slow cruise, a Zodiac tour is fast and close to sea level, making it an exciting experience. Its stability allows for smooth navigation and makes it easy to jump into the water and get back on board, perfect for snorkeling.
GREEN WATERS
Although the island of Fuerteventura is mainly known for its kilometer-long and paradisiacal beaches, it hides secrets that you cannot miss, among them the natural pool of Aguas Verdes or, as the Canarians call it, the Aguas Verdes puddle.
When the island was created, more than 100 million years ago, the lava, together with the erosion of the waves, created this watertight space where sea water penetrates, open to the Atlantic Ocean but protected from strong waves.
We could say that it is a perfect balance between the peace and tranquility that floating on the water provides, knowing that just a few meters away, behind the rocks, is the wild and chaotic nature of the ocean.
Aguas Verdes offers the opportunity to take a relaxed swim in an incredible environment. Its water is crystal clear, since the waves continually renew the interior of the pool, and the soundtrack, composed of the waves of the sea and some seagulls, could not be better.
PLAYGROUNDS
In practically every town in Fuerteventura you will find a swing area where children can enjoy the outdoors. Below we leave you the best playgrounds in the North of Fuerteventura:
Villaverde playground
Villaverde has a swing park almost at the entrance of the town in front of the Escafraga restaurant. It can be seen from the road itself. On the left in the direction of La Oliva.
Corralejo playground
The Parque la Tunera in Corralejo is located next to the Civil Guard and in front of the Hotel Playa Park Zensation. In this leisure park you will find a very well designed and maintained skate park, basketball court, soccer field, swing area, barbecue area and outdoor gym. A new playground in very good condition where the little ones, in addition to swings, have a board games area with boards to play the game of goose or ludo.
Lajares playground
In the center of the town of Lajares, you will find this playground with swings and a climbing area for the little ones. On Friday afternoons it is usually quite busy.
SUBMARINE TRIP WITH CRYSTALS
One of the most impressive activities you can do in Fuerteventura with children is to take an excursion on the Subcat Morro Jable (1 hour 30 minutes from Corralejo). This is a completely different boat than any you have seen before. The Subcat Morro Jable is one of only 3 catamaran-submarines in the world. Yes, you read it right. This boat combines both modalities to provide an unusual experience. At the beginning of the journey, you will sail across the sea on a catamaran, enjoying the sea breeze in your hair and the incredible views. This makes this part of the activity one of the best boat trips in Fuerteventura.
As you pass, you will see the best beaches on the island and you can even take the odd dip. During this part of the excursion, a guide will explain the curiosities and characteristics of the marine fauna and flora of the area.
Once the catamaran ride has taken place, you and the rest of the passengers will go inside the submarine. This is when the immersion and the most exciting part of the trip will begin. Through the windows of the submarine you will see the different animals that live in the depths of the sea. It is impressive to see them in complete freedom and at such a short distance. Without a doubt, this plan is ideal for all members of the family. Although Morro Jable is a town far from Corralejo since it is 1.5 hours by car, we recommend it if you have decided to visit the Oasis Wild park since it is very close to this fantastic zoo.
THE AJUY CAVES
The Ajuy Caves, located in Betancuria Rural Park, are a designated Natural Monument in the municipality of Ajuy. They are the oldest geological formations in the Canary Islands, spanning 32 hectares of underwater lava that surfaced during the Cretaceous period.
These caves are among the top 150 geological sites of global interest. Visiting them feels like stepping into a movie about the Earth's beginnings due to their ancient and impressive nature.
THE MAGICAL MOUNTAIN OF TINDAYA
Tindaya Mountain, known as the Sacred Mountain of Fuerteventura, is a magical place worth visiting on the island. Located in the Llano de Esquinzo in the municipality of La Oliva, it is part of the Biosphere Reserve and rises to 400 meters, with unique geographical features.
Beyond its beauty and views, Tindaya has significant historical and archaeological value, with ancient engravings and footprints. The island's natives once considered it sacred, and today it is a Cultural Heritage Site, Natural Monument, and Point of Geological Interest.
You can see unique species here, such as the hornua, a purple plant typical of the Canary Islands and Morocco, and birds like the Saharan runner and the houbara bustard. I recommend visiting the Bailadero de Las Brujas Cave, where rituals were performed centuries ago.
To visit Tindaya, go to La Oliva. If you go on your own, you will need a permit from the Environment Department of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura. If you hire a company, they will handle the permit for you.
